Your skin is one of the most incredible things about your body. Imagine it literally encases every part of you, so looking after it should always be your main beauty priority. After all you could be in the cutest ensemble but you’re not going to feel very confident if you have bad skin. Everyone’s skin is different, so finding the right combination of products that best rejuvenates, protects and enhances your skin is a process of systematic trial and error. What works for someone else might not necessarily work for you. Personally my skin is a mixture between sensitive and dry, so my goal is to always have moisturised dewy skin. I have struggled with bad skin for much of my life, but through trying different products and finding what works best for my skin I feel so much more confident and happier within myself. I have a daily morning and night routine which I will share with you at a later date, but I know how frustrating having a bad breakout can be so I thought I’d start off with a beauty post that helps your skin when it’s not at its best. These are the products I use in my fortnightly routine which help alleviate and prevent my skin problems .
- Simple Micellar Make-up Remover Wipes
I use these even if I’m not wearing any make-up. You’d be surprise how much dirt and grime the world outside will leave on your skin. I then use a hot face towel to open up the pores on my skin before patting dry with facial tissue.
- Glamglow Youthmud
This is one of my favourite masques to use. It’s says it’s a “10 minute facial” in a jar and for my skin I can say it absolutely is. It leaves my skin glowing and feeling smoother and noticeably brighter. I also use this as a single area application whenever I have blemishes.
- Eau Thermale Avène Eau Thermal Spring Water
I use this spray on a daily basis. It’s one of my favourite beauty products of all time. It’s thermal spring water from the Cévennes Mountains in Avène in France. It sounds a lot like hocus pocus but for me it works wonders. I use this after taking of my masque instead of a toner.
- Embryolisse Lait-Créme Concentré
This is my go to moisturizer! A makeup artist used it on me at a shoot a while back and I’ve been a convert ever since. It feels like you’re gliding silk onto your face, and it leaves my skin feeling super hydrated but not clogged up.
Remember to stay hydrated. Water is the elixir of life. No matter how well you look after your skin if you’re not drinking enough water you’re always going to struggle. So drink water. It’s as simple as that!
What are some of your favourite go to products for your skin? I’m always on the lookout for something new so comment below with your favourites.
Note to readers: I try to keep the editing process for all the photo’s on my blog to a minimal. Aside from a few colour and tone adjustments these photos have not been heavily edited. I am wearing four products, eyeliner, mascara, strobe cream and lip colour.
