I am just going to come right out and say it, I have never been a fan of low rise jeans. They are perhaps one of the most unforgiving cuts for women ever designed. Not mentioning the unsightly overhand of muffin top even if you’re a size 0, there is also nothing less lady like than having to hoist your jeans up overtime you get up from sitting down so not to overexpose yourself. To put it simply I just don’t like them. I find mid rise and high waisted jeans a lot more comfortable and flattering to the female form. There has been somewhat of a resurgence in high waist styles in the latter part of this decade and I definitely think its for the better.
Another piece that I find ultra flattering are Bardot tops or off the shoulder tops as they were more commonly referred to. Who could exude more feminine sensuality than Brigitte Bardot? You can find them in a multitude of styles now and they can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. In case you missed my first post, I talked about my love for classic pieces that you can use multiple times for different occasions. As a big wildlife and environmental supporter I believe that we all can make small but effective changes in our buying habits that can help the environment. I use to buy into the fast fashion mantra, impulsively buying things every season that I wore once if at all. My wardrobe was bursting at the seams, it wasn’t healthy for my bank balance and when I thought about it obviously had a gross negative impact on the environment. My wonderful friend Samio wrote a great piece on how she changed her shopping mindset in the same way you can read it here. You will notice in future post pieces that come up again and again.
Let me know if you’re favourite denim cuts and styles below, I can’t wait to read them!
